Rebecca Jowers is a US-born legal translator and professor of Legal English based in Madrid. For 20 years she has taught Legal English to young lawyers at the Carlos III University Law School, developing courses in contracts, corporate law, civil procedure, criminal law and criminal procedure, labor law, property law and tax law. Specializing in legal and commercial texts, before starting her freelance translation business she worked as an in-house translator for13 years in a large multinational corporation and five years in an intellectual property law firm. She holds a doctorate from the Carlos III University in Madrid, a PhD from Michigan State University, an M.A. from New York University, and a B.A. from Stetson University.
